C-45F Expeditor aircraft model kit 1/48Revell Germany
The Beechcraft 18, or 'Twin Beech', was designed and first built in the 1930's, and amazingly continued in production until about 1970 after some 9,000 had been built. A widely used civilian aircraft, used for a wide variety of purposes, including as a small 'feeder' airliner, while it was also used in a military guise by the USAF and US Navy as well as the RAF and other foreign air arms.
Includes internal details with seating for the cockpit and the passenger cabin. Even the small control panel on the roof of the cockpit is included, and there is a transfer provided for the main instrument panel. Accurate exterior details. Engines and undercarriage bays are well detailed while you have the option to assemble the undercarriage either up or down. The propellers have a basic boss or a larger spinner, depending on which of the two variants you want to go for.
There are two marking options provided for. One is a USAF machine, a UC-45F Expeditor of the 2nd Electronics Squadron based at Olmsted Field, PZ in 1948, in an overall bare metal finish though with bright yellow engine cowlings. The other option is for a Royal Navy example, an Expeditor C.11 serving with 728 Naval Air Squadron of the Fleet Air Arm serving at Hal Far in Malta, in 1949. Again in an all-metal finish.
